How to build a weekly work plan for a youth sports team

A simple weekly structure coaches can use to assign skill, conditioning, recovery and school work to every player.

Quick answer

Pick three to five tasks a week: one skill, one conditioning, one recovery, one school or character item. Keep each task specific, time bound and something the player fully controls.

Start with what players control

Players cannot control playing time, wins or selection. They can control reps, sleep, film study and homework. Build every task around those.

A plan that fits a 30 player roster

Use the same core tasks for everyone, then add one position task for small groups.

  • Skill: 100 focused reps at home
  • Conditioning: three 20 minute sessions
  • Recovery: stretch five days
  • School: all homework turned in
  • Leadership: encourage one teammate

Review in minutes, not hours

Batch approvals twice a week. Approve the clear ones in bulk and send quick notes only where work is missing detail.

Run this with your roster

Team plans for 15, 30 or 45 players, billed yearly, with a 14-day trial.
